Rite of Passage in other Cultures.

In my own faith of Christianity, Confirmation is considered the rite of passage into religious maturity. It is one of the Seven Sacraments. Jewish boys reach Bar Mitzvah when they turn 13. They are recognized as adults after this and are responsible to follow the Jewish commandments and laws. On the day of their Bar Mitzvah, the boys go to church and read out of their holy book. After that they have a party and are considered a man. In Africa, when a girl menstruates they are sent away to learn about womanhood. This is way different from our culture because girls aren't sent away or considered women the first time they menstruate. There are similarities but also huge differences between our rites of passage and other cultures/countries.
